Precision Plastic Manufacturing for High-Volume Production

At Rapid Proto Tooling, we provide advanced injection moulding solutions engineered for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency. Our state-of-the-art injection moulding machines range from 55 tons to 850 tons of clamping force, allowing us to handle parts of various sizes and complexities — from small intricate components to large structural assemblies.

The Injection Moulding Process:

Injection moulding involves melting thermoplastic or thermoset polymers and injecting the molten material into precision-engineered steel or aluminium moulds under high pressure. Once cooled and solidified, the mould opens, and the finished part is ejected. This highly automated process enables rapid cycle times, consistent part quality, and scalable production volumes.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Machine Sizes: Clamping forces from 55 to 850 tons, supporting a broad range of part sizes and mould complexities
  • Tolerances: Achievable part tolerances as tight as ±0.05 mm, depending on geometry and material
  • Shot Sizes: Capable of processing shot volumes from sub-gram micro parts to large structural components
  • Materials: Wide selection including ABS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, nylon, PEEK, TPU, and other engineering polymers
  • Mould Design: Custom tooling optimized for minimal cycle time, uniform filling, and reduced warpage
  • Multi-Cavity & Family Moulds: Support for high-volume production with multi-cavity tooling or family moulds to maximize efficiency
  • Secondary Operations: In-mould labelling, insert moulding, overmoulding, and post-mould machining available
  • Quality Control: Inline inspection, dimensional measurement, and process monitoring to ensure consistency and compliance
